Furubashi (Nakagobashi) Furuhashi (Nakagawa Bridge)

A small stone bridge with a unique processing method for sidewall stones

This stone bridge over the Narutaki River is the gateway to Nagasaki from Ichinose to Sakurababa, and was built in 1654 by the Tang Tsuji, Rinshuden, with his own funds.
It is the sixth stone bridge built counting from Megane Bridge, and has a span of 6 meters. This is the smallest stone bridge in this water system, but you can see the careful work done on the side walls.
Since the bridge was built, there have been no records of the bridge collapsing, and the bridge is currently being raised approximately 1 meter by burying the bridge railings, main pillars, etc.

In 1918, a new Nakagawa Bridge was built downstream, and this bridge was renamed Furubashi.
