Sotome no Onosuraku Ohno village in Sotome
A village in the Sotome region on the west coast of the Nishisonogi Peninsula
During the period when Christianity was prohibited, Hidden Christians continued to practice their faith in an organized manner, secretly enshrining objects of their faith at shrines where they were parishioners, reciting orasho (prayers), and other forms of conflict between traditional religion and beliefs. It was a village that shared a place.
After the ban on Christianity, Ono Church was built near the shrine, which was a place of worship during the ban period. This symbolizes the end of "hiddenness" in Ohno Village.
