Nishiyama Jinja's kanzakura Cold cherry blossoms at Nishiyama Shrine

City-designated natural monument

This cherry tree is on the right side when you go up the long stone steps. It has a trunk height of 1m and a tree height of 7m, and there is a record that it was planted in January 30.

The tree had been suffering from severe pain for several years and its vigor was declining, but as a result of treatment by a tree doctor from 7 to 8, the tree's vigor has recovered and it is now blooming with lovely pink flowers.

Kanzakura usually blooms in mid-February, but this cherry blossom blooms early, starting in mid-December and finishing in early February.

Kanzakura (Kanzakura) is said to be a hybrid whose one parent is Kanhizakura (Kanhizakura), which is native to southern China and Taiwan, but there are differences in color and flowering period due to differences in the other parent. It is said.
