Kabashima Daikoen Kabashima Lighthouse Park

A chalk lighthouse that keeps watching over ships coming and going

Kabashima Lighthouse, built in 1932, is a beautiful white circular lighthouse made of concrete. Located on the southern tip of Kabashima, from the observation deck you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Amakusa Sea and Goto Sea, as well as see ships sailing far to the East China Sea.
The area around the lighthouse has been developed into a park and is famous for its spectacular views and bird watching. In early spring, about 100 cherry blossom trees cover the area in pale pink, attracting many people.
In the evening, it is a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the magnificent Goto Sea.
Near the lighthouse is the Kabashima Lighthouse Museum, which has a detailed introduction to old light equipment and machinery, as well as lighthouses and navigational markers that watch over the sea around Nagasaki Port.
