Gongen Yamakoen Tenboudai Gongenyama Park/Observation Deck

Observation deck with a spectacular view

The observation deck is located at the highest point on Takashima, and is a quiet park where you can get a panoramic view of the island.
In addition to Hashima (Gunkanjima), the Nagasaki Peninsula, and the Nishisogi Peninsula, it is also a spectacular photo spot where you can see the Goto Islands and Amakusa in the distance on a clear day. Also, at dusk, you can see the beautiful sunset that gradually deepens in color over the Goto Sea, and at night you can enjoy the star-filled sky!
Just a short walk from the observatory is Snake Valley, where legend has it that long ago, a large snake lived among large rocks. It is known as a power spot in Takashima.
For transportation within Takashima, we recommend the community bus (circular bus) departing from Takashima Port Terminal or rental bicycles. Enjoy exploring the island while feeling the pleasant sea breeze.
