This observatory is located in front of the Iojima Lighthouse Memorial Museum and next to the Iojima Lighthouse bus stop, offering a panoramic view of the Goto Sea.
A vast panorama of the horizon stretches out in front of you, and you can sit on a shaded bench and enjoy the breathtaking view while feeling the pleasant sea breeze from the sea. If you look through the binoculars installed at the observatory, you can see Takashima and Gunkanjima (Hashima).
As the name suggests, it is a perfect spot from which to view a very beautiful sunset, and on days when the sky is clear, you can even see the Goto Islands reflected in the setting sun.
At dusk, the sun setting over the sea paints the area an orange color, creating a very romantic atmosphere. It is one of the best date spots on Iojima.
