Peas Shusaku Endo Literary Museum

A museum that introduces the life and footsteps of Shusaku Endo, who wrote the novel "Silence" set in Sotome.

The Sotome district was the setting for the novel Silence, which is said to be the origin of Endo literature. Mr. Endo was fascinated by Sotome, which has a unique history and culture, and is said to have continued to visit this place even after he wrote about it, calling it ``a place that God has reserved for me.''
The Literary Museum overlooking the Sumonada Sea is an elegant building, with a stained glass window in the entrance hall depicting the literary world of Silence. The museum exhibits his personal belongings and belongings from before his death, as well as original manuscripts and books, introducing his life and footprints. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions are held every two years with changing themes.

The Sotome area is known as a famous sunset spot, and you can see the beautiful sunset over the Goto Sea from the Literature Museum.
