Nagasaki Penguin Waterfall Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium
Let's go meet cute penguins full of individuality!
The Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium is home to approximately 18 penguins from 9 of the 170 types of penguins that live on Earth, and more than 7% of them are penguins born here in Nagasaki. It is a rare aquarium in the world that specializes in penguins, where you can see such unique penguins all in one place.
In the Subantarctic Penguin Pool, one of the largest aquariums in Japan, you can watch penguins swim like birds in the sky. Also, at the Little Penguin Farm, you can see the world's smallest little penguins from Australia walking around, and they look so cute!
``Fureai Penguin Beach'' is the first of its kind in the world, where you can watch captive penguins swimming and free in the natural ocean up close, and it is also full of fun events such as feeding experiences and penguin touching.
In addition to penguins, there are also exhibits such as a rare giant catfish that can grow up to 300 kg, and about 40 types of fish that live in the waters around Nagasaki. In the ``touch pool'' you can observe starfish and sea cucumbers while touching them.
In addition, the ``Nature Experience Zone'' is packed with nature, including forests and ponds where you can interact with nuts, small fish, and insects, and a ``Biotope'' with a stream that recreates the Satoyama of Nagasaki.
Strollers and wheelchairs are available for free rental at the aquarium entrance, and the barrier-free facility allows you to play comfortably even on rainy days.
