In 2025, Hiroshima and Nagasaki will mark the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings and the 50th anniversary of their sister city relationship. To mark these milestones, the two cities will work together to promote peace culture and other collaborative projects, such as creating new tourism programs that incorporate peace education, in order to develop the regional economy by attracting foreign tourists and further fostering friendship between the two cities.
