The Nagasaki branch of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank started operations in Nagasaki at the end of the Edo period. It was designed by Kikutaro Shimoda, a great architect in the Meiji to early Showa era. It has gone through various changes and has been restored to its original appearance. It is still in use today.

The multipurpose hall on the first floor recreates the atmosphere of the Meiji era, with gorgeous decorations.
