　With the support of the Japan Tourism Agency, the DMO will work in cooperation with Nagasaki City and private businesses to promote initiatives that will contribute to an increase in the total number of overnight stays, maximizing travel spending and economic ripple effects, and realizing Nagasaki as an exchange city where people can experience the richness of the region.

■ Overview of the "Pioneering DMO"
　The Japan Tourism Agency aims to create a model for a "world-class DMO" that meets high standards for initiatives such as revitalizing the entire region, and is currently soliciting and selecting candidates for "pioneering DMOs." The selected "pioneering DMOs" will receive support through demonstration projects for tourism destination management related to three perspectives ("efforts to incorporate a scientific approach," "efforts to promote the development of an environment for welcoming visitors," and "efforts to foster understanding among local residents").
　So far, three organizations have been selected as "Pioneering DMOs" in fiscal year 2022, one in fiscal year 2024, and seven new organizations have been selected in fiscal year 2025.There are 332 DMOs registered with the Japan Tourism Agency across the country (as of October 1, 2025), but only 11 of them, including the seven selected this time, have been selected as "Pioneering DMOs."The selection process involved meeting the requirements set by the Japan Tourism Agency and going through an expert committee review (including on-site hearings).
