The 8th Asia Pacific Knee Osteotomy Symposium was held at Dejima Messe Nagasaki on January 31st and February 1st, 2026.
　Nagasaki is a city that has played a significant role in the history of Japan's modernization, and choosing it as the venue was the right decision. 255 people participated from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and India. Two main venues, an exhibition room, and seminar rooms were set up. Lively discussions took place in all venues, and the closing times were slightly extended on both days.
　The venue is directly connected to Nagasaki Station, making it highly convenient and a new, comfortable space. Many participants complimented us on our choice of venue. The venue is compact and very easy to use. The corridors are wide, which made me wonder if more people could have visited the exhibition booths if corporate exhibits had been held in the corridors. I was also surprised by the size and cleanliness of the restrooms. However, it was unfortunate that the entrance on the second floor was closed in the mornings. It is convenient to enter the venue via the second-floor corridor if coming from the Hilton Hotel, and I think it would be even more convenient if the venue were directly connected to the hotel in the future.
It is expected that the area around the station will become an even more wonderful environment once the redevelopment is completed.

　We spent a year working on everything from selecting a venue to raising funds. We considered venues in Hakata and Naha, among others, but ultimately chose Dejima Messe, which I believe contributed to the success of the event. To make the event a success, it's crucial to have many people participate. I also think choosing Nagasaki, a city full of exotic charm, was a good decision.
　Since there were many participants from overseas, we wanted to introduce Japanese culture and traditions, so we requested a dragon dance, erhu performance, and face-changing show as entertainment at the social gathering. The participants were very interested. However, while the venue is extremely convenient for those using the Shinkansen, it is inconvenient for those using airplanes, as they have to take a bus from the airport and the bus stop is at the bus center in front of the station. We would like to request that a bus stop for airport buses be set up in front of Dejima Messe.

The location was relatively convenient, and the venue itself was compact and easy to use.
I was impressed by how clean, spacious, and easy to use the venue was everywhere.
