Mr. Atsutoshi Yoshimura
The Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry held its 2025 Autumn Academic Conference at Dejima Messe Nagasaki from Thursday, November 6th to Friday, November 7th, 2025. When it was decided that the Pokémon GO Wild Area would be held in the city during the same period, we became very concerned about securing accommodation for participants, but we were able to successfully conclude the conference, with approximately 1,500 people attending and lively academic exchange taking place through a diverse program.

Please tell us about your main initiatives this time.
Mr. Atsutoshi Yoshimura
Conservative dentistry encompasses restorative dentistry, endodontics, and periodontics, all of which are essential in clinical practice to preserve teeth and keep them functioning normally. However, it is not easy to maintain cutting-edge knowledge in all three fields. Therefore, we wanted to have professors active at the forefront of each field give lectures on common themes as much as possible, so that students could also catch up on knowledge outside their own areas of expertise.

Please give a message to those who are planning to invite or hold a conference in Nagasaki in the future.
Mr. Atsutoshi Yoshimura
The venue, Dejima Messe, is fully equipped with the latest facilities necessary for hosting an academic conference. Its convenient location close to the station, along with easy access to hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions, made it a popular spot for participants from other prefectures.
The support we received from the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association helped ensure the event ran smoothly, so we highly recommend consulting them.
