The Nagasaki University Institute of Tropical Medicine is the only institution in Japan that specializes in tropical medicine. Researchers from all over the world participated in the 59th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Tropical Medicine, which ended successfully. Various initiatives were taken at the conference, including inviting the CEO of the GHIT Fund*, which invests in research and development of tropical medicine. This served as an opportunity for many international joint research projects. In addition to participant satisfaction, Nagasaki citizens who participated in the public lectures also seemed to have a high level of satisfaction. We would like to continue holding international conferences in the field of tropical medicine in Nagasaki in the future.
