　We recently held the National Supermarket Association General Meeting in Nagasaki City.
　This competition brings together supermarket managers and managers from major food manufacturers from all over the country, and is held in various parts of the country every year.
　This time, it was the first nationwide convention since the opening of Dejima Messe Nagasaki, and we were able to hold it with the help of Nagasaki Prefecture, Nagasaki City, and the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association.
　We had decided to hold the event before the coronavirus outbreak, so we were quite worried when it happened, but instead of the usual 1,000 people, we decided to hold it for 500 people in consideration of social distancing, and at the Dejima Messe. Because "Nagasaki" was constructed during the coronavirus pandemic, ventilation equipment, etc. that had not previously been included in the construction plan was added, and infection control measures were taken to ensure that the project was held in a very good environment.
　Although we reduced the number of participants due to the coronavirus pandemic, we received so many applications that we had to decline participation from many companies, which made us realize once again the potential of Nagasaki. After the event, we received comments from participants saying, ``Nagasaki is full of sightseeing, food, facilities, and everything else, so I'm very satisfied,'' which made me feel very proud.
