Please tell us about your main initiatives this time.
Mr. Hirotsugu Aiga
We have been preparing for the event with the desire not only to hold a high-quality symposium, but also to give participants from all over the world memories of their time in Nagasaki that will last a lifetime, and to bring positive benefits to the local economy.
Thanks to the grant funding we received from the Japan Tourism Agency, we planned a two-day, one-night study tour to the Goto Islands to learn about examples of nursing care and telemedicine on remote islands.
More participants will come togetherDesigned at Dejima Messe NagasakiAt the welcome party, a "Nagasaki Lantern Hospitality Alley" was held, where food stalls decorated with lanterns served freshly cooked Japanese food made with products from Nagasaki, which was very well received by the guests.
In addition, domestic companies offering products and services in line with the theme of HSR2024 set up booths at the venue, providing a forum for direct information exchange with symposium participants and the creation of future business opportunities.

We live in an age where new value-creation strategies are required, such as maximizing the ripple effects of hosting the tournament on the local economy and improving the brand power of the host city and organizing organization.
To achieve these goals,DMO NAGASAKIWe believe that close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the above, is necessary from the pre-event preparation stage onwards.
