The 2024th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Pain Rehabilitation was held on Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 8th, 9 at the Sakamoto Campus of Nagasaki University School of Medicine. This was the first time that the conference was held in Nagasaki, but more than 28 doctors participated. Lively discussions were held in each project, and we felt the true joy of a face-to-face conference. We were able to end the conference with great success thanks to all the participants, the sponsoring companies, and the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association, who cooperated with the conference. In addition, the participants gave very positive feedback on the content of the program and the hospitality of the conference. This is all thanks to the efforts of the preparation committee and staff of this conference. Through this conference, I once again realized that I cannot do anything alone, and I believe that I was able to fulfill my duties as the conference chairman thanks to everyone's support. Thank you very much.

Pain rehabilitation aims to reduce pain, improve daily functioning, and improve quality of life by understanding the patient's pain from a biopsychosocial model and providing treatments such as exercise therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. In recent years, digital transformation has progressed through the use of ICT and IoT, and their application to medical care has accelerated. Meanwhile, the International Association for the Study of Pain has set the improvement of pain management for patients who find it difficult to complain about pain as a challenge. At this academic conference, we discussed new approaches to pain rehabilitation using these latest findings and technologies through online pre-congresses, on-site special lectures, symposiums, hands-on seminars, and workshops.

Please give a message to those who are planning to invite or hold a conference in Nagasaki in the future.

This time, the event was held at the Nagasaki University School of Medicine Sakamoto Campus, a little far from Nagasaki Station, but many people attended. I think Nagasaki is an attractive city with an exotic atmosphere, even from people outside the prefecture. Planning and running an event that brings together many people, such as an academic conference, is very difficult, but I think it would be a great reward for the organizers if the participants could come to love Nagasaki even more through it. Also, based on my experience this time, I recommend consulting with the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association and getting their support when holding an event.
