Mr. Shin Tobe

This conference is a joint conference of two academic societies, and as this year's venue was Nagasaki, an executive committee was formed with faculty from universities in the Kyushu and Okinawa areas as well as Nagasaki University, the host city. Approximately 2 people from all over the country participated in the tournament, which was larger than previous years. When preparations for the tournament began in December 370, the spread of the new coronavirus infection had finally begun to show signs of calming down, so for the first time in four years it was held on-site with only face-to-face meetings. The event was held at Dejima Messe Nagasaki, but the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen will open in 2022, and it is conveniently located just 12 minutes walk from Nagasaki Station, where related facilities are being developed, so we participated in terms of access to hotels and meals. It was very well received by people. However, since the convention is normally held at the host university's facilities, venue costs were higher than in previous years, but thanks to a subsidy from the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association, we were able to run the convention at a satisfactory facility. did it.

Please tell us about your main initiatives this time.

In previous years, the reception desk at the venue was crowded with confirmation of participants and exchange of registration fees, but this year's conference uses an abstract registration system, which allows you to apply for participation and research presentations from the opening of the conference website. has been maintained online. This made it possible to accurately manage participants and eliminate the need for on-site exchanges of money, allowing for smooth guidance.
In addition, the number of registered participants far exceeded expectations, and there were concerns about the capacity of the venue on the first day (the main venue was a little small), but we decided to set up a satellite venue to relay the presentations from the main venue. The venue did not overflow and was able to be used by many people to their satisfaction.

Please give a message to those who are planning to invite or hold a conference in Nagasaki in the future.

Nagasaki is a place that is expected to become even more attractive in the future as redevelopment around its stations progresses. In addition, Dejima Messe Nagasaki, the venue for this conference, is the perfect venue for hosting academic conferences and events, as it is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and high-speed Wi-Fi. Furthermore, it was very well received by participants who came to Nagasaki from all over the country for its convenience as it was only a 0-minute walk from Nagasaki Station, good access to hotels and restaurants, and a convenient location for approaching tourist spots. Ta. In addition, the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association kindly consulted with us during the preparations for the event, and we were also able to receive a subsidy, which enabled us to run the event to the satisfaction of not only the participants but also the executive committee. . I would like to express my gratitude here.
