Please tell us your impressions of this tournament.
Mr. Takuro Ayuse
The 2023st Japanese Society of Dental Anesthesiology General Meeting and Academic Conference and the 10th Academic Conference of the Asian Society of Dental Anesthesiologists will be held at Dejima Messe Nagasaki for three days from October 6th (Friday) to October 8th (Sunday), 3. did. During the event, over 51 people were on-site and over 14 people watched on-demand after the event. We also had over 1,400 participants from overseas, making it a very lively academic conference.
As our society celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and took a new stance, we operated our organization in line with the theme of ``Towards the next 50 years - empathy and trust.'' As COVID-19 has moved to Category 5, for the first time in several years, the meeting will be held face-to-face under infection control measures that leave mask-wearing to individual judgment. I hope you enjoyed the goodness of it as well.
Although it rained on the final day, the typhoon that had occurred just before avoided Nagasaki, and operations went smoothly despite the clear autumn weather. Participants said, ``This is the first time I've been to a venue that is so bright, airy, and easy to navigate,'' and ``This is a wonderful facility that is directly connected to the Shinkansen and conventional line stations!'' We received many comments that highly praised the new facility.
In addition, this academic meeting received a large number of registrations not only from members of the Japanese Society of Dental Anesthesiology but also from several other academic societies, and we were able to record the highest number of participants ever. I would like to express my gratitude to all the members, related academic societies, and everyone involved, including the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association and Dejima Messe Nagasaki, who cooperated in the management of this academic conference.
Please tell us about your main initiatives this time.
Mr. Takuro Ayuse
The 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Dental Anesthesiologists was scheduled to be held in Nagasaki about three years ago, but this was the first time it had been held since 3 years ago, when I was the secretary general. 26 years ago, when I accepted the position of president of the conference, I was at a loss as to what I should do to surpass the atmosphere of the first conference held in Nagasaki and the surprise of the social gathering at Glover Garden. The conclusion we came to was to hold the event in conjunction with Nagasaki Kunchi just like we did 26 years ago, hold a two-day party at Graper Garden, and promote internationalization by providing the best academic content. I decided to. In addition, we were able to deepen our friendships with customers from various countries through the International Fun Run & Walk, an early morning course around Nagasaki Port, and during the lunch break, there was a food court where participants could enjoy Nagasaki's specialties for free.
With the great cooperation of everyone involved, we have worked to realize the president's seemingly reckless plan to hold an academic conference at this time.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all those involved and participants who lent their efforts to make this a reality.
Please give a message to those who are planning to invite or hold a conference in Nagasaki in the future.
Mr. Takuro Ayuse
The venue allows us to express the intentions and characteristics of the conference president, depending on the number of participants, the scale of the conference, face-to-face or hybrid format, and program content, and we were able to hold the conference in a wonderful venue unlike any other in Kyushu. Ta. The organizers of the academic conference, the management office, Dejima Messe, the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association, and all the members of the accommodation hotels, etc., united their thoughts and made a collaborative effort to deliver "hospitality" to the conference. I think it will lead to success.
