The 12th Academic Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Nursing will be held on Saturday, September 2023th and Sunday, September 9th, 9 at Nagasaki University School of Medicine Memorial Auditorium, Ryojun Hall, and Pompe Hall (10-1-12 Sakamoto, Nagasaki City). It was held.
The theme of this academic conference is "Inheritance and Creation of Radiological Nursing - The Future Envisioned with Nurses Specializing in Radiological Nursing", and various plans have been prepared. In addition to holding a face-to-face event for the first time in four years and in a rural area, there were few face-to-face events due to the coronavirus pandemic, so we had to worry about providing information to non-society members, but as a result, the number of participants was close to 4. With the participation of many people, we were able to finish the event with great success. We would like to thank everyone who participated, the hospitals and companies that supported the conference, everyone who helped prepare and manage the conference, and the people in charge of the Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association.

Please tell us about your main initiatives this time.

This academic conference was decided to be held in Nagasaki in April 2022, and the world was in an unstable situation due to the coronavirus infection and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. 4 was a big year for radiation nursing, with the birth of a radiation nursing specialist nurse.
Under these circumstances, this time, as it was the first academic conference since the birth of professional nurses, we created an opportunity to promote professional nurses. In addition, as a prologue, we had an exchange witness from the Nagasaki Peace Promotion Association give a lecture, and we were able to plan an opportunity to think about peace. Furthermore, as souvenirs, we created hand towels with motifs of the Peace Memorial Statue and a dove, the symbol of peace. I am very happy that I was able to spread the word about radiation nursing and peace from Nagasaki, the site of the atomic bombing.

Please give a message to those who are planning to invite or hold a conference in Nagasaki in the future.

I believe that the person who serves as the chairman is someone who is ``lucky.'' The first step to success is valuing that "luck" and collaborating with the organizers, management office, colleagues, Nagasaki International Tourism and Convention Association, and other related parties to create your ideal tournament. I think.
