History of exchange and creation through education and culture
There is an array of scholarship and culture with roots in Nagasaki. As a City of Peace, Nagasaki has hosted large international conventions on numerous occasions.
When Japan isolated itself from the world, Nagasaki was the only gateway open to the West. Many educational and cultural roots are here, and the city has a strong history of holding conventions, such as international meetings to abolish nuclear weapons, and academic meetings for medicine and engineering. -
We can manage even larger conventions
The construction of Dejima Messe Nagasaki has made it possible to also manage large-scale conventions.
In addition to already existing accommodations for 15,000 overnight guests (approx. 7,000 rooms), the Hilton Nagasaki opened in 2021 and the Nagasaki Marriott Hotel in 2024. The city will become an even more attractive convention site with the construction of Nagasaki Stadium City, slated for completion on October 14, 2024.
