A perfect town for reflection
The sound of a steam whistle, the soft sea breeze, an old lady taking a step up the stairs, a Western-style building and ivy. Sometimes I exchange greetings with my neighbors. What do you think? Just imagining it sounds poetic, doesn't it? This kind of everyday life is normal in Nagasaki.
This view explains why foreigners wanted to establish settlements here.
Going down the hill, you will come to Kozone Kendou Street. This street passes behind Taiheiji Temple, the 73rd temple of the Nagasaki Shikoku 8 Temple Pilgrimage, and connects to Glover Street and Konsui Street. The street is named after Kozone Kendou, a businessman who was active from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period and who had ties to Nagasaki and was also an investor in the Kameyama Shachu. The area is home to exotic buildings, traditional architecture, and cobblestone slopes, allowing you to enjoy a unique atmosphere where the present and the past intersect. The area is also one of the locations that were modeled after in the animated film "The Color of You" directed by Yamada Naoko, which will be released on Friday, August 30th. Have fun trying to figure out which locations were modeled after!
1. This is the road where you can see the white shipyard building that was the model for the movie. Try to find where you can see it.

2. People and cars on the street. You can experience everyday life in Nagasaki, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots.
3. You can see Nagasaki Port and Mount Inasa on the opposite shore. If the timing is right, we also recommend a night stroll.
4. Cobblestone streets and alleyways...it's beautiful even on rainy days!
5. If you continue along Glover Street from the exit of Glover Garden, you will reach Dondon Saka and Ozone Kendou Street.
Are the cats of Nagasaki foreigners? If you can tell the difference, you're a Nagasaki native!
