About 10 minutes walk from Stadium City! A local shop to stop by after the game
The restaurant's name is a combination of Nagasaki's unique culture of "Wakaran" and "Wakoku (Japan)," and the "zero" in "Gareji" means that the restaurant wants all customers to become "10" and enjoy themselves. As the name suggests, the restaurant is popular with locals, as it serves Nagasaki specialties such as hatoshi, whale dishes, and castella cakes, as well as fish dishes made with fresh fish procured from an exclusive wholesaler. The three-story restaurant is equipped with everything from private rooms for privacy to tatami rooms that can seat around XNUMX people, making it the perfect place for a post-match review, win or lose.
1. The owner is a designer, so the beautiful exterior reflects his sensibilities.
2. The restaurant is located on the first to third floors, and offers a wide variety of seating options to suit your needs, including tatami rooms, sunken kotatsu tables, private rooms, and counter seating.
3. "Mackerel flakes" are cooked at low temperature and then smoked, but still have a moist texture. We recommend eating it as is for the first bite, or adding grated daikon radish and lemon to change up the flavor!
4. The ratio of broth to egg is 1:1, so just lifting it with chopsticks will make the broth overflow.
5. The Hatosi here is made by putting minced fish between bread and baking it instead of frying it. Be sure to try this new Hatosi!
6. "Nama Karasumi" is a rare dish even in Nagasaki. Take a small amount with your chopsticks, eat it, and then drink your sake. It's the best, to say the least!
7. The three local sakes that were compared on this day were Fukukai (Fukuda Sake Brewery/Hirado), Hiran (Mori Sake Brewery/Hirado), and Yokoyama Issho (Shigeie Sake Brewery/Iki).
8. With over 100 items on the menu, and a wide selection of desserts including handmade castella cakes, this is a restaurant that everyone can enjoy.
9. Anyway, after the match, enjoy the Japanese, Chinese and Dutch culture at Wakaran Gazouji.
