[Nomozaki Area] Experience the ancient world at Mozaki Dinosaur Park in Nagasaki -1

[Nomozaki Area] New to the ancient world! Mozaki Dinosaur Park in Nagasaki [Nomozaki Area] New to the ancient world! Mozaki Dinosaur Park in Nagasaki

Nomozaki Peninsula is a place where you can enjoy driving while being conscious of the edge of Nagasaki, with the endless horizon in the distance.
Located at the southernmost tip of Nagasaki City, once you drive for a while from the center and there are no obstructions, Gunkanjima, a ruined island that remembers its former glory, appears as if floating on the sea, and you can see the passage of time. My feelings melt into the travel spirit.
This time's destination, Nagasaki's Mozaki Dinosaur Park, is located at the southwestern tip of the Nomozaki Peninsula. This facility consists of a dinosaur museum, children's plaza, Gunkanjima museum, information center, etc.
Go to Gunkanjima floating in the sea and the new world that spreads beyond it!

Why dinosaurs in Nomozaki?

Starting with the discovery of the first dinosaur fossil in Nagasaki Prefecture in 2010, more than 1,300 fossils have been discovered. All of the fossils were found on the Nomozaki Peninsula, and they were 8,100 million years old. From this, it was discovered that there was a stratum from the age of dinosaurs in the entire Nagasaki Peninsula area, and it was named the "Mitsuse Formation."
In 2014, Japan's first fossil tooth of a large species measuring 10 meters in length was discovered, making the southern part of the Nagasaki Peninsula one of Japan's leading dinosaur spots!
This is how Japan's third dinosaur museum was born.

To the Benex Dinosaur Museum!

From authentic fossils to dynamic life-size replicas!

The Benex Dinosaur Museum, located inside Nomozaki Dinosaur Park, has a total of about 180 permanent exhibits! The museum exhibits include real fossils and a full-body skeleton replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex that is about 13 meters long.
It has a single window, which is rare for a museum, and the contrast between the beautiful view of Gunkanjima floating in the vast ocean and the dinosaur skeleton replicas is truly emotional.
It is also attractive that it includes many ideas and tools that allow you to learn about ancient creatures, including the era before dinosaurs took over the earth. As you look, touch, and play, you will be drawn into the world of dinosaurs before you know it.
Another highlight is the ultra-realistic tyrannosaurid reconstruction robot with a total length of approximately 2 meters that is located in the second floor exhibition room.

Trix whole body skeleton replica

The main attraction of the museum is the replica of the entire skeleton of a gigantic Tyrannosaurus rex, which is approximately 13 meters long.
This is a skeletal replica of "Trix" owned by the Dutch National Museum "Naturalis Biodiversity Center".

Tyrannosaur reconstruction robot

A super realistic moving Tyrannosaurus robot with a total length of about 6m. The sight of it sniffing and barking loudly is so impressive that you'll think it's really alive!

There are also hands-on exhibits where you can touch and learn!

Hands-on exhibits are exhibits where you can touch the exhibits with your hands.
You can touch and feel the evolutionary process of living things, touch real fossils, and more. There are many things you can learn for the first time by experiencing hands-on exhibits.

Not just fossils! You can also see the research in progress.

An open lab where you can take a peek at research on dinosaur fossils and other things for free. You can also learn about dinosaurs from a different angle, which will deepen your understanding.
