Not just a night view! How to enjoy “Mount Inasa”
Mt. Inasa is a popular spot for viewing Nagasaki's night view, but there are many other things to see besides the night view!
Ideal for casual trekking during the day. We will introduce you to a new side of Mt. Inasa, including the spectacular views that can only be seen during the bright daylight hours and ways to enjoy them.
It takes about 1 hour to walk! Let's walk up to the same height as Tokyo Tower, 333 meters above sea level.
When you think of the means of transportation to the summit observation deck of Mt. Inasa, you probably think of a ropeway or car, but you can actually walk up the mountain.
The altitude is 333m, the same as Tokyo Tower, and the path is paved, so even beginners and those with light equipment can enjoy an easy trek. The entrance to the Mt. Inasa mountain trail is located at the back of the Nagasaki City Momijidani Funeral Home near Fuchi Shrine Station on the Nagasaki Mt. Inasa Ropeway. If you follow the mountain trail, you can reach the top of the mountain in about 1 hour! Why not incorporate trekking into your sightseeing activities?
Solve your physical anxiety with the ropeway!
Mountain climbing has an outbound journey and a return journey. Mt. Inasa is also great for people who want to try a challenge but are worried about their physical strength! We also recommend using the ropeway on your way back.
Take a walk in the air while looking down on the path you climbed on a gondola with an innovative form that offers a clear 360-degree view. There is also a free parking lot at Fuchijinja Station, where you will arrive.

Shortcut with a slope car! ?
A slope car also runs from the Mt. Inasa parking lot to the summit. This section is a steep climb, so we recommend using the slope car that runs above to enjoy a different view than walking to the top of the mountain!
You can see it because it's bright! View from the observation deck during the day
The spectacular view from the observation deck of Mt. Inasa is not only at night! During the day, you can see the city of Nagasaki, and on clear days you can see the Goto Islands, Unzen, and Amakusa.
Use the telescope on the observation deck to look for the Old Glover House, Oura Cathedral, Gunkanjima, and the Third Dock, all of which are designated as Nagasaki's World Heritage Sites.
Magic hour at sunset! A great time to see the night view
The daytime view that stretches far into the distance is spectacular, but the sunset on the west side of the observatory is just as spectacular. A must-see is the magic hour when the ocean and sky of the East China Sea are painted in a fantastical color!
After sunset, we quickly moved to an area overlooking the city where the night view shines. If you can avoid waiting time for the ropeway or restrictions on the use of the mountaintop parking lot and secure a night view viewing space ahead of time, you can efficiently enjoy these two spectacular views.
If you're lucky, you might see it! Fantastic sea of clouds in the early morning
There is another spectacular view of Mt. Inasa that is not well known. It was a sea of clouds in the early morning. It can only be seen when certain weather conditions such as temperature, humidity, and wind strength are met, so tourists are left to chance, but if they get up early and go to the summit, they can see a new view of Mt. Inasa. You may be able to meet one side.
