At the restaurant "Restaurant Cathedréclat" on Glover Street at Hotel Indigo Nagasaki
I participated in a tasting event for the summer-only dinner course and afternoon tea!
Afternoon tea
The welcome drink contains blue jelly, reminiscent of the sea around Nagasaki. It's fun because it changes color when you mix it, and the refreshing taste of yuzu juice and apple vinegar is perfect for summer.
The afternoon tea is a fusion of tradition and innovation, with sweets created in collaboration with Pierre Hermé and the unexpected dish of baked castella wrapped in prosciutto.
Furthermore, the menu also includes items that reflect the Wakaran culture, such as hatoshi and amber sugar, giving the restaurant a unique Nagasaki feel.
Although afternoon tea is limited to two hours, it is a precious moment where you can enjoy the special space, cuisine, and story of "Wakaran." If you visit as a set with an overnight stay, you will be able to fully enjoy the charm of Nagasaki!
[June only] Original handkerchief gift
In fact, about 80% of the cats in Nagasaki have short, curled, or bun-shaped tails, and these cats, known as "curved tail cats," have been featured in the hotel's original illustrations.
Dinner "Signature Course -Blanche-"
Meanwhile, dinner is based on French cuisine, but actively incorporates the "Wakaran" culture. The sauce for the meat dishes is made with Nagasaki miso and sweet bean paste, and by incorporating elements that are not "French-like," such as Nagasaki tempura, which is characterized by its sweet batter, the restaurant expresses Nagasaki in a solid way. The course ends with a surprising "onigiri" (rice ball)!
The afternoon tea is the same, but the after-meal coffee is an original creation of the hotel, made with beans from Indonesia and Tanzania. It recreates the taste of coffee when it was first introduced to Japan, a touch that is unique to the historic city of Nagasaki.
This course also offers tourists a fresh opportunity to experience local food culture.

Come enjoy Nagasaki's history and culture with all your senses in this special place.
