[Shionbashi/Doza area] Botsu new gourmet ladder meal [Shionbashi/Doza area] Botsu new gourmet ladder meal

If you want to enjoy eating out at night, we recommend the Shianbashi and Doza areas.
It is said that the bridge got its name because men were pondering whether to go to the red-light district or return to the red-light district, and it is still famous as an area where people can enjoy drinking and eating.

The neon-lit Shianbashi area is a huge food court!

Of course, you can spend your time there to your heart's content, but with a variety of restaurants lined up, it's also a perfect place to enjoy eating while walking without any legwork. It's like a huge food court.
It is a one-of-a-kind gourmet town where both locals and tourists can easily enjoy Nagasaki to the fullest, and it is also a neon town.
Don't be afraid to take a step forward while pondering delicious thoughts on Shianbashi. Neon lights at night and gourmet food are waiting for you.

Hountei Main Store Torifuku

It all starts with one bite. From the heartwarming “taste of happiness”

First, start your food tour at Hountei Honten Torifuku.
We recommend the famous bite-sized gyoza, which has been loved by generations for generations, and the fried chicken inherited from the now-defunct famous restaurant.

Nagasaki has developed by incorporating foreign cultures.
Among gourmet foods, it has been loved by locals for a long time for its easy "bite" style while still having a distinct Chinese taste. The thin-skinned dough is stuffed with aged Unzen pork and domestic onions, and it's so delicious that you can't help but reach for the next one.
Also, the fried chicken made with domestic herb chicken has an irresistible harmony of soft meat and aged sauce!

Sushi bar Ibukiji

A delicious breath of Nagasaki = A sushi restaurant where you can enjoy seafood

Next, I visited Sushi Bar Ibukiji, located near the entrance to Shianbashi.
Yes, as the name "Sushiba" suggests, it is a sushi restaurant.

During the Edo period, sushi was a type of fast food that could be enjoyed easily. That's why it's a good idea to include it in your eating plan. Especially Nagasaki, the "marine kingdom". The freshness, the variety of toppings, and of course the deliciousness go without saying. No matter which store you step through, I think you'll feel satisfied.
This time, let's enjoy it with a slightly more elegant atmosphere. This restaurant is particular about local fish and local sake. All menu items are made with seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the chef from among the seafood caught that day. The space only has 10 seats at the counter, so it's easy to stop by even on your own.

Momowaka

In search of long-established oden swimming in a square pot

Momowaka, an oden specialty store, is located at the west end of Shianbashi Yokocho, where quietly lit red lanterns welcome you.
Founded in the early Showa era, it is a long-established store with over 90 years of history. In front of the counter, a pot full of oden toppings is lined up in rows.

There is a wide range of variations, from standard oden such as radish and konjac to popular dishes such as cabbage rolls and longan.
Oden in Nagasaki is characterized by a sweet dashi based on the gentle taste of ago-dashi. And ``kanboko'' (paste) made from abundant seafood. Nerimono is also sweet, but surprisingly goes well with alcohol.
If you order piping hot oden or even hot sake while sitting at the counter, your mind and body will be warmed up.
Once you have warmed up to your core, you can resume your walk around Shianbashi Bridge in search of the next gourmet food.

Nagasaki Butaman Momotaro Shianbashi branch

A trump card for eating while walking! Butaman, a familiar dish for Nagasaki people

If you want to gorge yourself on Nagasaki gourmet food, check out this one too.
This is a pig that is said to have been introduced from China to Dejima in Nagasaki and spread throughout the country. Momotaro's pork buns are made with 100% Nagasaki pork and onions, and even the skin is delicious, made with a proprietary flour mixture.

You can purchase one small size for 1 yen, so you can buy it depending on how full your stomach is.
The charm is the warm feeling! It's freshly steamed in a steamer, so it's perfect for the cold season.
I also like the convenience of being able to insert it at any time when I'm eating out.

Kaniya Doza main store

If you want to end your night in Nagasaki, this is it! Famous rice ball restaurant

And then on to the finale of the food tour.
``Of course, we'll finish with rice balls! ”, so I went to the popular Kani-ya. This is a restaurant that has created a food culture unique to Nagasaki that says, ``Onigiri are the best way to enjoy a drink.''

Kaniya is also one of the long-established stores that is famous around Shianbashi.
It goes without saying that this shop specializes in onigiri and ochazuke. You can enjoy a wide variety of freshly made rice balls, such as salted mackerel, mustard greens, and salmon. These rice balls are hand-knotted by craftsmen using carefully selected rice and the highest quality Ariake seaweed. It's so delicious that even if you're full, you'll still be hooked!
It's open until late hours, so there are quite a few people walking in staggered fashion through the noren curtains.
