To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Siebold's first visit to Japan, various events will be held at locations connected to the city. Why not find the footprints of Siebold, who introduced the charms of Japan to the world, in Nagasaki?

Siebold, who was a doctor at the Dejima Dutch Trading Company, had a great interest in natural science research and visited Japan with ambition.
During his stay in Dejima, he devoted himself to researching Japan's animals and plants, and his results are widely known in Europe.
We will introduce some of the published Japanese Zoological and Japanese Flora magazines on panels, using paintings about Japanese flora and fauna that Siebold brought back as sketches.
