About Glover Garden 50th Anniversary Project-1

Glover Garden was built on September 1974, 49, in addition to three buildings designated as nationally designated important cultural properties, including the former Glover House.
After completing the relocation and maintenance of six Western-style buildings, it started as "Glover Garden". This year marks the 6th anniversary of the park's opening.

Toku, a new member of the editorial department, once again asked her about her appeal in such a milestone year!

This time, I heard about...

Descendant of Robert Walker II, trader and builder of the old Walker home.
He is also active as a bagpipe player and is the general manager of Glover Garden.Walker James Masanaga

The first member of the Walker family to set foot on Nagasaki was Walker's great-grandfather's older brother.
Afterwards, Walker's great-grandfather came to Nagasaki after being called by his older brother.

It is said that the house where the family lived was built in the middle of the Meiji period along Kyoenzaka next to Oura Cathedral.
This place also appeared in the work of author Shusaku Endo.

The last landlord of the place was Robert Walker II.
He is Masayoshi's grandfather.

At that time, additions and renovations were made to accommodate the growth of the family.

Part of it was moved to the current Glover Garden. It was a story.
