The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of China's three major festivals (the others being the Spring Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival), and is a gathering festival popularly known as ``Moon Viewing'' in Japan. The mid-autumn moon, when the moon is the brightest, roundest, and has the most beautiful light, is celebrated as a symbol of family togetherness.
