Noriaki Koga
Manager of the City Walking and Business Event Promotion Team, Business Headquarters
■Work history
Worked at a major travel agency for about 20 years. After working in store sales, corporate sales, airline purchasing, and product planning, he was assigned to overseas branches (Canada, India, and Singapore) as a branch manager for 10 years.
In order to increase the number of tourists from Japan, we are responsible for purchasing local products and developing products, and also contribute to outbound business from the local area to Japan.
After that, he was involved in the management of a group company's theme park and regional revitalization projects in the regional development department.
■Main current roles
After serving as the head of the MICE business, he has been in charge of school trips in the business department since 2022. He is currently promoting relationship building and collaboration with local businesses, such as creating and advising on products for traditional culture, festivals, and events, with the aim of increasing tourism appeal in the region.
In addition to operating the Nagasaki Saruku Secretariat, we plan and implement the ``Nagasaki Stories'' town walking tour as an independent project.
As part of its school trip program, the company planned and implemented the independent project "Nagasaki SDGs Peace Workshop."
The company is involved in Nagasaki's traditional cultural events, such as the Nagasaki Grouper Fried Competition, the Nagasaki Pelon Championship, and the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, and is also in charge of managing and operating the Nagasaki City General Tourist Information Center at Nagasaki Station and the tourist facility Kameyama Shachu Memorial Hall.
