We conducted an inspection of the Nagasaki Port Cruise Terminal.

2023.11.29 update

Overview

On October 2023, 10, we held a tour of Matsugae International Terminal, where cruise ships enter the port, exclusively for members of the Nagasaki City Tourism and Urban Development Network.
The purpose is to discover business opportunities by actually visiting the site where cruise passengers, the largest number of inbound tourists in Nagasaki, are accepted.
We met at 7:30 a.m. and started our inspection early in the morning, and 13 members participated on the day.

Potential of Nagasaki Port

In fact, Nagasaki Port is one of the most popular cruise ports in Japan.
Before the coronavirus outbreak (2019), we made 183 calls to Nagasaki Port, ranking XNUMXth in Japan.
Cruise ships have resumed entering the port since March of this year, and the number of returns this year is one of the highest in Kyushu.
It is particularly characterized by the large number of foreign ships in the luxury and premium class.

During the tour, in addition to these characteristics of Nagasaki Port, DMO NAGASAKI explained to the participants the sales results and sales points when they actually sold tickets at cruise terminals.

Information on terminal store openings

At Matsugae International Terminal, you can set up a sales booth when a cruise ship enters the port.
Participants were given a look at the product sales booths on the day of the event, and were given instructions on how to open a store.
At this point, there seemed to be several people considering opening a full-fledged store.
