This ``discovery of believers'' was conveyed to Europe with astonishment and has been passed down to future generations.

The grounds include Oura Cathedral and the former Roman Catholic Church.CodeFour facilities, including a seminary, built from the end of the Edo period to the Taisho period still exist. The grounds of Oura Cathedral are the place where an event occurred that connected the Christian faith that continued under the ban on Christianity and the Christian faith that was brought to Japan with the opening of the country. It became a base for re-missionary work in Japan. The shrine grounds are valuable in that the facilities showing these are extremely well preserved.
