Matsumori Tenmangu Shrine
“Shinjin” is a cultural property designated by Nagasaki Prefecture that depicts 30 types of craftsmen from the Edo period.
Founded in 1625, Matsumori Tenmangu Shrine is one of the three Nagasaki shrines and is dedicated to the god of learning, Michizane Sugawara. On the transom of the outer enclosure of the main shrine, there is a relief sculpture of ``Shijinjin'', a cultural property designated by Nagasaki Prefecture, which depicts in detail the work of 30 types of artisans, including confectionery artisans, during the Edo period. This work of craftsmanship is not only a delicate carving, but also a work of art with high cultural value, which has a history of being painted by Yushi Ishizaki, the master of Siebold's personal illustrator Keiga Kawahara. It is said that Toshi Ishizaki helped Keiga Kawahara's painting career even after the Siebold Incident.

siebold street
The path Siebold walked is now Nagasaki's kitchen
Siebold Street was named as the route that Siebold frequently took during the Edo period from the Dejima Dutch Trading Post to the private medical school Narutaki Juku, and a portrait of Siebold is hung at the entrance to the Shin-Okomachi shopping street. I am. Shindaiko is known as Nagasaki's food kitchen, and the market is lined with specialty stores selling meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, and more, where you can get fresh food. In Nagasaki in spring, red sea bream and loquat are seasonal specialties. Please feel free to stroll around the Shin-Okomachi shopping street where you can find the latest seasonal items.
[Lunch] Meat ski
Nagasaki's Dejima was once a cultural center. Please try the Nagasaki wagyu beef "Dejima Barairo" named after it.
If you want to enjoy Kazuto Nagasaki's highest-ranked ``Dejima Rose Color,'' try Shin Daiko's Meat Suki. By heating it, the fat and red color will melt into a mellow texture, allowing you to enjoy a special steak lunch with an exquisite taste at a great price. ``Dejima Rose Color'' is a Japanese brand named after the western meat eating culture of Dejima, the bright red color reminiscent of roses, and the thickness of rose meat. It has also won the number one award in Japan. Enjoy a luxurious meal like a Westerner in Dejima.
[Souvenirs] Senjuan Nagasakiya
Japan's sweetness begins in Nagasaki Japan Heritage Nagasaki Kaido Sugar Road
There was once a saying, ``Far from Nagasaki.'' This made fun of the fact that they didn't use much sugar, so much so that Nagasaki = sugar, and sugar = Nagasaki. Sugar that came from Dejima traveled all over Japan via the Nagasaki Kaido Sugar Road, and had a major impact on Japan's food culture. At Senjuan Nagasakiya, we recommend the horogai confectionery made from roasted rice powder and sugar, as well as Nagasaki's traditional sugar confectionery. Enjoy bite-sized Nagasaki sweets with cute designs that are full of Nagasaki characteristics.

Iifukuji Temple (Sakuraba Tenmangu Shrine)
Siebold's large-scale survey of Japan! Edo Visit starts from here
Once every four years, members of the Dejima Dutch Trading Post make the long trip to Edo to have an audience with the shogun, and it was a great opportunity for the naturalist Siebold. The artist Keiga Kawahara, who was Siebold's "camera," painted everything from that time to the roads and towns, animals and plants. Iifuku-ji Temple is the place where Siebold prayed for safety during his visit to Edo. His extensive research into Japan began here.

[Souvenirs] Matsuko Shoten
Nagasaki Karasumi, one of Japan's three major delicacies, also known as the cheese of the sea
Karasumi Manufacturing Honpo Matsuko Shoten opened in 1886 during the Meiji era. The signature prize, ``raw karasumi,'' has a deep flavor brought out by the saltiness, making it truly a ``cheese of the sea.'' It goes well with alcohol, on top of hot rice, and with bread and pasta. (In Italy, karasumi is called bottarga and is eaten with pasta!) Karasumi was introduced from the West, but it was first produced in Japan using high-quality mullet from Nagasaki. , one of Japan's three major delicacies, Nagasaki Karasumi, was born.
