Take the Nagasaki bus from "Ropeway-mae" and get off at "Dejima Omotemonbashi"
Dejima Omotemon Bridge
A symbol of Dejima that served as a bridge between Edomachi and Dejima.
During the Edo period, the old Dejima Bridge connected Dejima and Edomachi across the street. It was demolished during the Meiji period, but in 130, 2017 years later, it was revived as "Dejima Omotemon Bridge"!
At this spot, you can feel that Dejima, which was reclaimed and connected to land, was once an "island". In the Edo period, when you crossed the bridge, a guard called a ``saguriban'' controlled the people coming and going, but now you are greeted by a staff member dressed as a gatekeeper! Excited by the scenery reminiscent of the old Dejima. will increase!

Dejima
Travel back in time to the beginning of the 19th century! Nationally designated historic site “Dejima Waran Trading Post Ruins”
Dejima is an artificial island built by order of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
Completed in 1636, it has played a major role in the modernization of Japan as Japan's only window to Western Europe for about 200 years. After its role ended in the Meiji period, the area around Dejima was reclaimed and the original fan-shaped shape floating in the sea disappeared, but in 1951 Nagasaki City began restoration work on Dejima, and to date 16 buildings and scenery have been preserved. It has regained its original appearance. The space is as if you have traveled back in time to the beginning of the 19th century.
In 2017, the Dejima Omotemon Bridge was completed and it is now possible to enter and exit Dejima by crossing it just like in the past. At night, it is lit up, making the surrounding area even more attractive.

Enter from Gate 2
Glover Garden
Experience the spectacular view of Nagasaki Port that even great figures were fascinated by!
Located on Minami-Yamate Hill overlooking the panoramic view of Nagasaki Port, it is one of Nagasaki's most popular sightseeing spots, full of exotic atmosphere.
Six Western-style buildings from the Meiji period that were scattered around the city have been relocated and restored, mainly the former Glover House, former Ringer House, and former Orto House, all of which are nationally designated important cultural properties. The stone pavements and stone steps that retain the vestiges of the settlement era further enhance the atmosphere of history and culture. Every part of the park is decorated with flowers, and no matter where you look, it's a picturesque space.
We also boast a great location overlooking Nagasaki Port with Mt. Inasa, a landmark of Nagasaki City, in the background. It is no wonder that the great people who lived there right after the opening of the port were fascinated by this spectacular view.
