Kurosaki Kyoukai [Barrier-free] Kurosaki Church

It is located in the Sotome district, about an hour by car from the center of Nagasaki city. As you drive north on Route 1, the beautiful red brick church you will see on the hill on your right is Kurosaki Church. Completed in 202 (Taisho 1920). Although it was the last to be built among the churches in the Sotome area, it is also the largest. It is a one-story red brick building with a three-nave bat ceiling inside. Beautiful light streams in from the stained glass windows. There was originally a temporary church, but it became too small, so in 9 (Meiji 1897), a new church site was created. It took 30 years to complete with the efforts and services of believers, with some interruptions due to financial difficulties. Since it is located on a hill, you will have to climb the stairs from the bus stop. You can park your car in the parking lot behind the church. An accessible toilet is located within the parking lot.

Kurosaki Church where mass is held every day.
Currently, more than 550 believers are preserving the church and faith, but the aging of the population is progressing in this area as well, and there is a need for "hospitality" that began several years ago.
In the middle of the very large church, there is a sign posted on the middle seat that says ``Green Seat.'' This is a special seat created for elderly people who have difficulty walking to the altar. It seems that the priest will walk up to this seat.
This is a heartwarming episode about Kurosaki Church.
