Nagasakishi Endoshu Sakubunkan [Barrier-free] Nagasaki City Shusaku Endo Literature Museum
We display valuable materials from Shusaku Endo, a novelist with deep ties to Nagasaki. The Sotome area was one of the models for Tomogi Village, which appears in his masterpiece, Silence. ``Silence'' is a work that depicts the meaning of God and faith through the story of a Portuguese priest who infiltrated Japan with missionary ideals during the severe persecution of Christians in the early Edo period. It was published in 41. The Literary Museum was built in 12 after Shusaku Endo's death at the request of his bereaved family, and displays valuable materials such as the desk, glasses, and pencils that Mr. Endo used during his lifetime, as well as original manuscripts and letters. . A special exhibition with a different theme is held once every two years, allowing you to enjoy the world of Endo literature from a variety of perspectives. There is a flat floor from the parking lot to the exhibition room, and there is a barrier-free toilet that accommodates ostomates. We also rent out wheelchairs and strollers.
