Doroshinpukinenkan [Barrier-free] Father de Rotz Memorial Museum

Displaying the footprints of a priest who served the people of Sotome

This facility is located in Shitsu Bunkamura in the Sotome district of Nagasaki City. This building was designed and constructed by Father de Rotz himself in 18 to be used as a sardine net factory, and from the following year it was used as a nursery school. In 43, it became a memorial hall to display Father de Rotz's belongings, and in 15 it was designated as a national important cultural property. In addition to religious materials such as statues of the Virgin Mary, vestments, and Gospels that were actually used, the memorial hall also houses spinning wheels, stockinette knitting machines, carpentry tools, blueprints, medical equipment such as medicine cabinets, thermometers, and human models. - Items related to Father Ro are on display. The building is still the same as before, with many steps, and the toilet outside can only be accessed through a narrow passageway. There is no parking lot for tourists, but if you are physically or physically challenged, please contact the facility and we will direct you to a nearby plaza.
