Mitsubishi-Juko Sogo Taiikukan [Barrier-free] Mitsubishi Heavy Industries General Gymnasium
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries General Gymnasium
This facility is located along the Urakami River near the starting point of the Mt. Inasa Ropeway. It was built in 61 as a welfare facility for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, but has since been opened to the public, and is now popular among citizens as a facility to maintain and improve health and physical strength. At the 2014 Nagasaki Ganbaranba Tournament, a basketball competition was held in which people with intellectual disabilities participated. There is a large gymnasium measuring 47m x 34m, a small gymnasium (13 permanent table tennis tables), a fitness room, a training room, and a toddler corner (for children under 6 years old), which are used by many citizens. Free parking is available, but there are no barrier-free toilets or ramps. Also, it cannot be used for wheelchair basketball.
