Nagasaki Shiboru Tokinenkan [Barrier-free] Nagasaki Siebold Memorial Museum
Philipp Franz von Siebold introduced modern Western medicine to Japan during the Edo period and widely introduced Japan to Europe. The building is modeled after Siebold's former home in Leiden, the Netherlands, and the entrance is inspired by the home of Siebold's grandfather Karl Kaspar. The first floor has a video introducing his life, the second floor has a permanent exhibition room, and the third floor has a special exhibition room. The facility is wheelchair accessible. You can also view the 1nd and 2rd floors by using the elevator. Normally, stairs are required to reach the entrance, but there is a special elevator building for those in wheelchairs.
